Install0us 3.0 is due to be released to donators as a beta soon. Install0us, developed by puy0, allows users of the application to install ‘cracked’ (DRM free) applications from the App Store.
Install0us 3.0 has many new features over the current 2.5 version. Applications are now displayed with a different API, instead of the Web API that Kyek made for the mobile version of Appulous. If you choose to download and install an app from Appulous, Install0us will notify you automatically when an update is available for it.
This version of install0us is not being released to the public yet, due to many bugs/problems that must be fixed before it becomes the final version. Click here for the official Install0us site.

Hey guys,
As you my know already, appulous has been down for a while. I’m happy to say that the mobile version is back up and you should have full access to the database. I’m not sure yet if it is just the mobile version that is back up, so I will post here when I find out.
If the troll bridge is still up and you cannot answer the question, you don’t deserve the answer.
Kyek may still be in the process of setting up the new servers that he has to make Appulous fast again. In the days before it was shut down temporarily, few people were actually getting to the main page because their existing server could not cope with the amount of people that were using Appulous at one time.
To stay updated on the whole Appulous/Hacklous situation, check for new posts here, or click here.
EDIT: Appulous is now available as the computer. Everyone should now have access to their favourite iPhone apps site! Go to hackulo.us and thank Kyek for all of his work on this project. There is nothing else as expansive as Appulous.

Install0us 2.5 is now available on it’s own dedicated repository. Puy0 (the developer) has added many new features, including Auto-IPA Install and Delete, the option to specify a home page, and a new layout. this new version of install0us is now hosted on it’s own repository, instead of hackulo.us’s repository. Use the below source to download Install0us 2.5:
http://cydia.install0us.com/
Once you have added the above source in Cydia, you can search for Install0us (the 0 is a zero) and install the package.
The new install0us is great and has many new features, but someone from xSellize has created a custom home page for Install0us which allows you to access many different Cracked IPA sites from one convienient location. Use this source to get the package
http://cydia.xsellize.com/
Now search for custom install0us. install the package in the search results from the xSellize repo. The package should do everything for you, so the next time you open install0us you will have your custom home page. Look at the below images for the new loading screen and the custom home page.

02, the official iPhone carrier in the United Kingdom, is now unlocking customers iPhones for free. Customers that already have an iPhone contract with O2 can get their iPhones unlocked now, so the phone can be used on any GSM network in the world. Customers on the O2 network that wish to unlock their iPhone must still honour any remaining time in their iPhone contract.
iPhone unlock explained in detail:
iPhones contain a second computer, which is seperate from the main CPU. The second CPU (called the Baseband) handles access to the Internet over the cell network, calls and text messages. The baseband has its own firmware which restricts the phones use to certain carriers in the world, such as AT&T and Rogers Wireless. Since the iPhone was first released, there have been people that can’t stand being tied to one carrier in their country. To fix this iPhone unlocks were made.
Geohot, a 20 year old iPhone hacker, released the first iPhone unlock. This unlock was somewhat risky though, as it required the user to phisically open their iPhone. Since then, software unlocks have been used. Blacksn0w is geohot’s latest unlock.
Software unlocks are a lot easier for the end user, as opposed to hardware unlocks. But when a new firmware ships from apple, the unlock is broken. Hackers must find another way to acheive a software unlock.

A hacker going by the name of iKee, has released what he called the first iPhone virus. The virus will change the users wallpaper to a picture of the 80’s pop star Rick Astley. Text will be displayed on the screen saying ‘ikee will never give you up’.
The worm is attacking iPhones that are jailbroken and have SSH installed with the default password still in place. Ikee only attacks iPhones in Australia, so if you don’t live upside down then don’t worry about getting it : ) I highly recommend that you change the default password. If you wish to do so, follow the steps at the very bottom of this post.
Details:
This worm infects an iPhone, and then scans specific IP address ranges on cell networks. Vulnerable iPhones are detected and infected with the worm. This whole process repeats again and again.
How to change the default password:
1. Install the MobileTerminal package from Cydia.
2. Open the terminal application from the homescreen, and type su. Then press enter.
3. Now type alpine and press enter.
4. Type passwd (yes, it is spelt correctly) and type in the password of your choice. The password will not be displayed.
5. Once the password is entered, press enter. You will be asked to enter the password again. Enter it and press enter again.
Done! Just remember to use this password when you log in to your iPhone with SSH.

Now that geohot has released the new unlock for the 05.11.07 baseband, there are multiple ways to install it.
If you have not jailbroken already, use blackra1n to jailbreak. Once the jailbreak is sucessful and your device has rebooted, an application called blackra1n will appear on your homescreen. All you have to do is install Cydia and the unlock.
If you have already jailbroken, open Cydia and type in the following source:
http://blackra1n.com/
Cydia will refresh and the source will be installed. Now tap on the search tab and search for Blacksn0w. Install it and reboot your iPhone.
NOTE: If you are using a carrier that doesn’t use the same 3G frequencies as at&t (like T-Mobile) then make sure you turn off the 3G capabilities in the settings application. If you do not turn it off, your iPhone may continue to search for a network to connect to and never end up connecting and working.
NOTE #2: When apple releases a new firmware for iPhone’s, make sure that you do not upgrade to that new firmware. You will be stuck without an unlock for a while. Be careful when it comes to these things : )

Today geohot officially released his new unlock for the 05.11.07 baseband. This has been long awaited for many people because they have been stuck without unlock because they upgraded their phone. Blacksn0w can be downloaded right now from Cydia, and also from the blackra1n iPhone application that is installed when you jailbreak with blackra1n. Today blackra1n RC3 we also released. It will now include hacktivation support and it will enable official tethering for iPhones in the USA.
The blacksn0w unlock works on the 3.1 and 3.1.2 firmware. If you run the 3.0 firmware, there is already an unlock for that firmware called ultrasn0w that you can install from Cydia.
Lastly, congratulations to geohot. He is very talented at what he does and had brought many good tools to the iPhone community.

Geohot has stated that blacksn0w, the unlock for the 05.11.07 baseband, will be available for download in four days. There is also a new post on geohot’s blog saying that he is sick of people like Jody Sanders selling the freeware that people like him are making. Please spread the word about scams like this and hopefully people won’t continue to pay for freeware that shouldn’t be sold. As I said in an earlier post, I will post here when blacksn0w is available to the public. Some people are claiming to already have copies of the software, but I doubt it : )

Geohot has just released a teaser of his new unlock for 05.11.07 baseband. This unlock will allow any iPhone 3G/3GS to connect to any network that is not officially supported by Apple. I know a lot of people have been waiting for this because they rely on unlocks to use their iPhone’s. This unlock will also relieve those that accidentally upgraded their iPhone’s to a new firmware and have been stuck without an unlock. Geohot should release this soon, after it is completely usable.
This unlock is not for original iPhone users. The original iPhone has another method of unlocking. This is where the iPhone Dev Team have been a bit slack. They have not released any new unlocks or jailbreak utilities for Windows users.
In the mean time, you can use Ultrasn0w if you are on the 3.0 firmware to unlock your iPhone. I will post here when the unlock has been released.

MeDevil, the developer of the iBluetooth project, has made some progress in porting the application to 3.x firmwares. The iBluetooth application allows users of jailbroken iDevices to send and recieve files to other Bluetooth equiped phones/devices. The application currently crashes for most people running the 3.x firmwares, and it doesn’t support the new devices released by apple. At the time of writing this article, all of the iPod touch’s/iPhones released had Bluetooth capabilities. The new iBluetooth will support the iPod touch 2G and 3G, and all of the currently released iPhones.
iBluetooth is a paid application available in Cydia, although MeDevil hasn’t given us a release date for the new update.
To all of you that bought iBluetooth in the past: your licences will still work for the new version.
